Main town and centre of the Arve Valley , Cluses stands out  as much  by  the dynamism of its industry and its economy   as the vitality of its sport and culture  :  it  boasts a theatre , le Parvis des Esserts-Thierry Bourgey, a cultural centre  La Maison des Allobroges, a cinema, a library, sports facilities ( indoor swimming pool, 8 tennis courts, 7 stadiums, 5 gymnasiums), as well as educational and training facilities (School of Music and Dancing), 2 secondary schools, 3 sixth form colleges,  5 professional training centres). The town beats to the rhythm of its big annual events such as the  Musiques en  Stock festival (early July), the  Book Fair  in November and many others throughout the summer.

With its three dynamic shopping centres, the town attracts the valley’s inhabitants by its busy streets and the friendly atmosphere of its markets (more than 300 shops, 2 markets : Monday morning : town centre, Thursday afternoon at la  Sardagne)
