Entrenched throughout the centuries thanks to its abbey’s wealthy past, the heritage centre installed in this 17th century building relates the history of the monks who shared in its fame. The Gothic church is a veritable relic of art and history.
The village likes to cultivate the spirit of resistance : witness the stela erected to the memory of Tom Morel ,the Glières maquis leader murdered by the Vichy army .

From its untameable trout river to its Auges mountain pastures, you can observe a natural village which seeks its own specific place alongside the ski resorts of le Grand Bornand and la Clusaz.
You only have to leave the départemental road RD 12 which runs through the village to reach the lake of Lessy , by the GR96, or Lake Annecy via les Glières to the west.
