My principal vocation of farming has endowed me with beautiful pasture meadows, but I am also the poor woman of the Upper Giffre Valley. The majority of my working population are employed in the Arve Valley and my economic activities are composed of one industry and few craftspeople (working in wood and stonework ). |

My 19 km of snowed-up roads , damaged by ice, make it necessary for me to spend large amounts of money every year on their maintenance. More and more vehicles go through me on the departmental road that leads to my neighbours on the way to winter or summer holidays.
I have around twenty mountain streams which flow into the Giffre and they also have to be watched and my draining channels regularly maintained.
This expense means that I cannot afford to have the advantages of a town, but ,despite these geographical and climatic restrictions, I possess beauty and attraction through my landscape and my archaeological assets (imposing old farms, a baroque church ,chapels, the school, etc).
To meet me, follow the signs for Samoëns when you leave the motorway, go over the Col de Châtillon sur Cluses ; when you reach its foot on the Giffre Valley side you have arrived at my home (or yours) Then let yourself be driven to the foot of the ski area of the Grand Massif whose front door is 5 km from my main village.
Thank you in advance for your next visit…
