For about ten years Eteaux has been the theatre of quite an exceptional dynamic growth in population and property development . This is due to its situation close to the motorway interchange and a flourishing regional economy. |

Part of the pays Rôchois, overlooking the Arve Valley, between Geneva, Annecy and Chamonix, Eteaux has many assets :
· its geographical situation.
· the charm typical of traditional small communes .
A few figures :
1990 : 880 inhabitants and in 2004 : 1,500 inhabitants or 570 homes.
This evolution confirms the tendency noticed throughout Haute-Savoie ( the rate of population growth in 2001 : +1.36%)
Eteaux has showed itself capable of meeting the needs of this growing population in accommodation and public amenities , without spoiling its authenticity and atmosphere.

Work has begun with the redevelopment of the village centre : municipal building , village square, multi-sports area, library, schools and recently an extension to the school, with two more classrooms and facilities such as a school canteen and extra-curricular childminding.

The village centre is being reinforced by the construction of 3 apartment blocks and many housing developments of private houses.
To stay with the image of a village that is pleasant to live in , a bakery has recently opened .
Eteaux is part of the canton’s dynamics, as much in terms of development as in the quality of life.
