With 250 companies, around a hundred of which are directly related to the screw-cutting activity, Marnaz has at its disposal an exceptional industrial potential and can take pride in the name “capital of screw-cutting”. It occupies an important place not only in the economy of the region ,but also in the national and ,increasingly, in the international economy.
The town ‘s population (almost 5, 000 inhabitants half of whom are of working age) has seen a large increase and the commune has succeeded in developing its amenities in order to offer quality services adapted to the growing needs. Special emphasis is given to young people and education. As early as 1995 extracurricular services were created ( childminding facilities, leisure centre and school canteen) and every year they are an unequivocal success.
The existing facilities now reaching saturation point, a new first school will be opening for the next school year.

Numerous actions are also being taken in favour of the natural and living environment : a sustained policy of purification has made possible a connection of 85% of water to the waste water treatment plant . As regards the supply of drinking water , the town has just built its own new filtering station which is equipped with an innovative treatment procedure.
Finally , the network of associations is very active and makes it possible to offer cultural, sports and play activity events throughout the year : to this end, a hall will be opened end 2004 and a gymnasium at the beginning of 2005.
Marnaz’s Internet site, (
