
The village ,made up of several hamlets, overlooks the Arve Valley from a height of 600 m and looks across to the horizon of the Jura at l’Aiguille Verte offering to all the pleasures of the mountains.

Mont-Saxonnex now has 1,200 habitants called the “Dumonts”. It has a surface area of 2,628 ha. Its altitude goes from 750 m to 2,487 m (Pointe Blanche).
Equipped with local services and leisure amenities (municipal buildings, post office, school ,canteen, ski lifts,) Mont-Saxonnex allies a certain quality of living with a will for development both on a social and economic level which is of capital importance for the village’s firms, trades-people and craft-workers.

In winter Mont-Saxonnex becomes a ski resort. The skiing area at the foot of le Bargy can be explored by 6 ski lifts, 2 of which are for children learning to ski and 1 chairlift . Thanks to a cross-country ski loop or snowshoes you can discover Morsullaz and the plateau des Frachets Cenise.
In summer holidaymakers can go for hikes in the mountain pastures and forests and walk to the mountain lakes (Lac Bénit, Lac de Lessy) guided by theme paths, go climbing at the rocher de Malsaire (for beginners)and in the Massif du Bargy (for the more experienced). |

The village’s situation offers different activities : (river and lake fishing in the torrent du Bronze and lac Bénit), at the Ranch in the Gorge du Cé you can hire ponies and go for rides .During the holiday period the Tourist Office offers a daily programme of events and they are supported in this by the many dynamic associations in the village : welcome drink, hikes with mountain guides, rallyes on foot, ‘pétanque’ competitions, films, craft showroom, flea market, cattle market in autumn, Christmas market, torchlight descent, meals, and several highlights :

The commune is included in the
ANNECY-GENEVE-CHAMONIX triangle, the big lines of communication of the Arve Valley, so that it is an easily reachable mountain village.
